Originally from the UK, I have been living and teaching in Thailand since 2016, I originally got into computers after studying micro electronics, I designed and made motherboards, I became fascinated with what you could do with a computer, and became a self-taught techie. After I returned from traveling for 3 years in my early 30s, I decided to study a degree in computer science, I graduated in 2010 with an honors degree in computer science and engineering, I started my own training/consultancy business Saunders IT Solutions, where I provided IT training and consultancy services for companies in the South Wales area.
During my travels I fell in love with Thailand, I would return to visit for a few months every year until 2015, when a teaching position became available at an international school, I decided it would be a good time to make a change, I sold everything and headed back to Thailand to live.
The Techie Mike website serves as a record for the different IT topics I have covered and that others might find useful for their own projects. I offer consultancy services, tutorials, website design and development, web server management, SEO, website security, networking, PC builds and repairs.
